The new version of phpWebSite is now available for download.

Some notes on the update.

phpWebSite is using a new mod_rewrite method. There are two important notes concerning this:

1) The update contains a new .htaccess file. Your .htaccess file will get overwritten. If you want to save your current file, back it up. Note that shortcuts and allow/deny processes should continue to function after the update.

2) The Access module is now a core module. After you update your core, install the access module. Several modules depend on the Access module being installed before they will update.

To support older versions of PHP, the UTF8_MODE define is now set to FALSE. If you are running a newer version of php and having problems with accented characters, you can add:
define('UTF8_MODE', true); to your config/core/config.php file.

PageSmith wasn't indexing search. As a result, the update fixes this problem. If you are running several branch sites (more than 10) you may want to increase your timeout threshold.

If you are running any third party modules, they may not function properly in 1.5.0. Make sure you check Boost for an update of that module.

Matt

Thanks

I have updated Photo Album and RSS since the release. The former is a required update if you wish it to work with 1.5.0. The RSS update fixes some issues with high ascii characters.

Upgrade 1.4->1.5

to upgrade from 1.4, does one simply overwrite their website files with the new ones?

Clear browser cache

Upgrade Tip: After upgrading from 1.4, I found I had to clear my browser cache before File Cabinet would work correctly.

Great job on the release Matt!

Essentially yes, and then go to Control Panel > Admin > Boost and run the various update commands, starting with core and file cabinet.

Try phpwsforums.com for support too Smile

Problem after upgrading to 1.5.0

After upgrading to 1.5.0 I have lost my menus. When I go to Control Panel and click Menu, it says the following:

Template Cannot locate any menu templates. Cannot continue.

When I look under the mod/menu/templates directory I seem to have all the necessary files. Any suggestions?

Cheers,

Brett
