AccessGuide

The following guide will explain the function of the Access Module and how to use it.

What is the Access Module?

The Access module allows you to control access to your website. With the Access module you can block or unblock IP addresses from visiting your site.

How do you use the Access Module?

To use the Access module, go to the Administration tab of your Control panel and click on the Access icon.

Most of the controls in the Access module are for advanced users and/or ESS and the settings do not need to be modified by most users.

Permissions:

All modules have a set of permissions that can be set to allow a user/user group or users/user groups to have different access to each module. These options are available through User Administration and you can learn more about permissions in the Permissions Guide. The Access module allows you to give users none or unrestricted permission. If users are given unrestricted permission, they will be able to have full access to the module the same as you do as the site administrator. If they are given no permission, they will not be able to visit the Access module and make changes. You also have the option to give users Administrative options, this will allow the user(s) to modify Administrative options in the access module if they are already set to unrestricted access.

Return to the Administration Guide.
