LayoutGuide
The following guide will explain the function of the Layout module and how to use it.
What is the Layout Module?
The Layout Module allows for setting up and changing the look of a phpWebsite.
How do you use the Layout Module?
To use the Layout module, go to the Administration tab of your Control Panel and then click on the Layout icon.

A lot of the options in the Layout module are for advanced users or developers. We will touch on the options that can be used by anyone. The first tab we will talk about is the Header tab. This will allow you to add a message to the top of your home page, or even all pages in your website. You are given access to the FCKEditor to format the text however you want (Visit the FCKEditor Guide to learn more). When finished, click Update header.

The next tab is the Footer tab. Much like the header, you have the option to add to just the home page or all pages of your website, this will appear at the very bottom of the page. You can also use the FCKEditor for the footer as well (Visit the FCKEditor Guide to learn more). When finished, click Update footer.

The final tab we will go over is the Meta Tags tab. Here you can change what will appear at the top of the web browser when someone is viewing your website. You can also modify the key words associated with your website, so if your page was about classes, you could add Class and Classes to the keywords. When finished click Update.

Permissions
All modules have a set of permissions that can be set to allow a user/user group or users/user groups to have different access to each module. These options are available through the User Administration module and you can learn more about permissions in the Permissions Guide. The Layout module allows you to give users none or unrestricted permission. If users are given unrestricted permission, they will be able to have full access to the module the same as you do as the site administrator. If they are given no permission, they will not be able to modify the module.
Return to the Administration Guide.
Return to the User Documentation main page.
