ProfilerGuide
The following guide will explain the function of the Profiler module and how to use it.
What is the Profiler Module?
The Profiler Module allows you to create (or let users create) profiles for yourself and others. It can be a very good way to keep names and groups together as well as contact and other information.
How do you use Profiler?
To start using Profiler, go to the Content tab of your Control Panel. Once you are in your Content tab, select the Profiler icon.

Now you have to create a Division before you can start adding new profiles. To do this the first time you can click 'Add division' in the Division tab or select 'Please make a profile division type first' link in the New tab.

To create a Division you simply have to enter a name for the Division and click Save.
Now you can go to the New tab and start adding profiles. Now that you have a Division you will see a blank profile when you go to the New tab.

First, select which division the profile belongs in (if you have more then one division). Now you can add the persons first name and last name and a short caption about them. Next is the 'Full Story'. Here you can add any information necessary such as address, phone numbers, or any other information about yourself or whoever you are making the profile about that is required. Also, this field allows you to use the FCKEditor to format the text almost any way you want. (Note: Follow this link to more information about the FCKEditor.)
Below the Full Story is a space to enter the person's e-mail address, website and picture(s). Note: To add a picture you have to have it saved on your computer, then simply select the Camera icon on the web page and you will be able to browse your sites File Cabinet (To learn more visit the File Cabinet Guide) or your computer and then simply select the desired picture.
When you are finished, select 'Create Profile'. A screen should come up informing you that the profile was successfully created.

You can create as many profiles as you would like and you can browse them all in the List tab.

In the List tab you can choose to search through the profiles created by first name, last name, type (division), or submission date. You are also have the option to edit a profile or delete it.
The final tab of the Profiler Module is the Settings tab. In the Settings tab you can decide if you want profiles to appear on the main page and if so, how many of them.

We have now covered all the major functions of the Profiler.
Permissions
All modules have a set of permissions that can be set to allow a user/user group or users/user groups to have different access to each module. These options are available through the User Administration module and you can learn more about permissions in the Permissions Guide. The Profiler module allows you to give users none, restricted or unrestricted permission. If users are given unrestricted permission, they will be able to have full access to the module the same as you do as the site administrator. If they are given no permission, they will not be able to modify the module. Restricted access will give them limited access to somethings and usually requires approval from an admin before their changes are accepted. You can also give users the ability to delete profiles.
