RssfeedsGuide
The following guide will explain the function of the RSS Feeds module and how to use it.
What is the RSS Feeds Module?
RSS (or Really Simple Syndication) feeds are a way to publish information that is frequently updated, such as blogs. The RSS Feeds module allows you to import RSS Feeds to your website as well as publish an RSS Feed for your blog(s). To find out more about RSS visit Wikipedia's page on RSS Feeds.
How do you use the RSS Feeds Module?
To access the RSS Feeds module, go to the Administration tab of your Control panel and then click on the RSS Feeds icon.

Once you are in RSS Feeds module, you should start on the Channels tab. This will show any blogs on your website, if you click on the blog, it will take you to the RSS Feed for that blog. (Note: This requires your browser to be able to support RSS feeds.) You can also copy the address of the link to give others access to your RSS Feed so they can see when you have updated your blog.

The Import tab is next. Here you can add RSS Feeds to your website. Simply click on Add feed and enter the URL of the Feed. You can also set a limit to the number of items each feed will display and set how often the feed will automatically refresh itself. Once you have a feed added, you can choose to display it or not, if it is displaying it will say Yes, if it is not it will say No, to change the setting, simply click on the Yes or No. The RSS Feed will appear on your home page, below your menus, calendar and blocks. You also have the option to Refresh, Edit and Delete the feed.

The final tab is the Settings tab. Here you can change the over all options for the RSS Feeds. You can decide to have your RSS Feeds be in RSS 1.0 or 2.0, as well as add the e-mails of the Feeds editor and Webmaster. When done changing the settings click Save Settings. (Note: There are two different versions of RSS; 1.0 is more widely accepted and will be more compatible than 2.0 with the majority of feeds.)

Below is an example of what an RSS Feed can look like on your site if you choose to import one and display it. If there is a feed the pertains to your website, adding it so users can be updated on the newest information can be very handy.

Enjoy using the RSS Feeds module.
Permissions
All modules have a set of permissions that can be set to allow a user/user group or users/user groups to have different access to each module. These options are available through the User Administration module and you can learn more about permissions in the Permissions Guide. The RSS Feeds module allows you to give users none or unrestricted permission.
